Offshore applicants can only use the Overseas Health or Education Sector Job Offer pathway (190 only): skills assessment in ANZSCO groups 241, 251, 252, 253 or 254, a formal Tasmanian job offer of at least 30 hours/week from an employer operating in Tasmania for 12+ months paying local market rate, and no residence in another Australian state in the last 12 months (automatic Gold Pass). The 491 Overseas Skilled Occupation Profiles invitation-only pathway is closed: Migration Tasmania does not plan to issue any OSOP invitations in 2026-27. All other pathways (Tasmanian Skilled Employment, Tasmanian Skilled Graduate, Tasmanian Established Resident, Tasmanian Business Operator) require residence/employment in Tasmania.
