Skills in Demand visa for applicants from India

The subclass 482 Skills in Demand visa, which replaced the Temporary Skill Shortage visa in December 2024, lets an approved Australian employer sponsor a worker for up to four years in a core skills or specialist skills stream, with a pathway to permanent residence.

Eligibility

  • A job offer from an approved sponsor in an occupation on the Core Skills Occupation List, or a specialist role above the high-income threshold
  • Salary at or above the Core Skills Income Threshold and the market rate
  • At least one year of relevant work experience in the last five years
  • English at the required level and a skills assessment where the occupation requires one
