Work and Holiday visa for applicants from India

The subclass 462 gives Indians aged 18 to 30 a year in Australia to travel and work, with 1,000 places a year allocated by ballot. The 2026-27 ballot took registrations from 4 to 25 June 2026 and draws run until 30 April 2027; the next registration window is expected in mid-2027.

For Indian applicants

India joined the Work and Holiday program under the Australia-India trade agreement. Registration costs A$25, needs only basic details, and selected registrants get 28 days to apply. Eligibility is checked at the visa stage, and since 1 July 2026 an application lodged over the age limit is invalid rather than refused.
