Is the Contributory Parent visa fee refundable if refused?+
No. Visa application charges are not refunded on refusal or withdrawal, which is why the file should be checked before it is lodged.
Do family members pay extra?+
Yes, where the visa allows family members: each additional applicant pays a separate charge, lower for children under 18, and some permanent visas add a second instalment for adults without functional English.
